DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products and Everest Textile Showcase Sustainability and Innovation at the Summer Outdoor Retailer Show 2016
Wilmington, Del., August 24, 2016 – Sustainability remained a strong trend at this year’s Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City this summer. There were a number of brands and manufacturers incorporating eco-friendly alternatives into their products and supply chains. Everest Textile Co., LTD, an R&D oriented and vertically integrated textile manufacturer, was among the key innovation exhibitors showcasing its Eco-Product line that utilizes DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products’ bio-based technology.
Everest’s Evertek® Eco-Product textiles incorporate bio-based membranes and coatings based on Susterra® propanediol. The Ever Soft 3-layer shell gives brands the four-way stretch in addition to the moisture vapor protection they are looking for when incorporating light-weight fleece fabrics into outdoor garments. The membrane incorporated in the middle of the 3-layer textile utilizes a polyurethane bio-based membrane containing more than 25 percent renewable sourced materials by weight. For even more renewable sourced content, the Eco Freezing-Soft fabric has up to 50 percent bio-based content providing wind resistance and a soft flexible feel below zero degrees Celsius allowing brands to create wind-resistant breathable soft shell pants.
