DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products to Present the “Natural Choice in Glycols” at BevTech 2016

Wilmington, Del., April 12, 2016 – Effective heat transfer is crucial to making refreshing, shelf-stable beverages. For beverage manufacturers, heat transfer fluids are used throughout multiple beverage manufacturing cooling processes from PET bottle manufacturing to pasteurization and freezer storage. This is why DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products will be presenting, “Improving Heat Transfer Fluid Performance across Beverage Manufacturing Cooling Processes,” at the International Society of Beverage Technologist (ISBT) annual meeting, May 2, 2016, in Ft Myers, Florida.

“Susterra® propanediol offers companies that require non-toxic, food-safe heat transfer fluids a higher performing alternative to propylene glycol to use as the primary ingredient in their heat transfer fluid,” explains Steve Hurff, vice president of sales and marketing for DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products. “The low-viscosity profile of Susterra® propanediol enhances pump power consumption, flow rates and pumping efficiencies, which can improve energy demands and maintenance costs. Plus, every drop of our pure, bio-based glycol is renewably sourced from plant materials, no petroleum, making it ideal for food and beverage manufacturers.”

Laurie Kronenberg, global marketing director for DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, will present a comparison of traditional petroleum-based heat transfer glycols, used in vessel jackets, immersion coils, and heat exchangers, with a new bio-based heat transfer material, bio-based Susterra® propanediol. The comparison evaluates safety, stability and performance across a range of temperatures, pumping efficiency, and a peer reviewed life cycle assessment.

Prior to presenting, DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products will participate in the BevTech Expo on May 1, 2016, to kick-off ISBT events. Join us at booth 50 to learn that there is now is a choice in glycols for effective heat transfer. http://www.susterra-performs.com
