DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products to Present the “Natural Choice in Glycols” at the World Brewing Congress 2016

Wilmington, Del., July 25, 2016 – Brewers have a clear passion for the craft that goes into every pint that is brewed. Finally – a heat-transfer fluid that’s worthy of the craft: Susterra® propanediol. Effective heat transfer is crucial to making refreshing, shelf-stable beverages. This is why DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products will be presenting, “Improving Heat Transfer Fluid Performance across Brewing Processes,” at the World Brewing Congress (WBC), Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., in Denver, Colorado.

Mustafa Rehmanji, brew master and Master Brewers Association of America (MBAA) Award of Merit recipient, and Laurie Kronenberg, global marketing director, DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, will present a comparison of traditional petroleum-based heat transfer glycols, used in process cooling applications, with a new bio-based heat transfer material, Susterra® propanediol. The comparison evaluates safety, stability, performance across a range of temperatures, pumping efficiency and a peer reviewed life cycle assessment.

“The beer industry certainly has a long, storied history, but the interwoven art and science of beer making continues to improve year after year,” Rehmanji said last year after he received the MBAA Merit Award. “Now, I am pleased to continue my journey helping the industry improve upon the craft through other new initiatives,” explained Rehmanji as he prepares for this year’s WBC meeting.

“Susterra® propanediol offers companies that require non-toxic, food-safe heat transfer fluids a higher performing alternative to propylene glycol to use as the primary ingredient in their heat transfer fluid,” explains Steve Hurff, vice president of marketing and sales, for DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products. “The low-viscosity profile of Susterra® propanediol enhances pump power consumption, flow rates and pumping efficiencies, which can improve energy demands and maintenance costs. Plus, every drop of our pure, bio-based glycol is renewably sourced from plant materials, not petroleum, making it ideal for breweries.”

DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products also will participate in the WBC Expo on Aug. 14-16. Join us at booth 506 to learn that there is now a choice in glycols for effective heat transfer for all your fermentation and maturation cooling applications.
